Amon: adult male, neutered, medium, domestic shorthair, white w/gray tabby
Amon is one of our original special-needs cats.
He was rescued along with part of his feral colony when he was 2 months old.
He has a spinal injury or birth defect (he says he's just fine!) which means he has no use of his tail, and has a little
trouble controlling his sphincter muscles (sometimes). But you would never know
he has this trouble. He loves to jump and play, he'll even do backflips for his favorite cat-dancer toy. Amon is FIV and FeLV negative but has tested positive for FIP. He
remains symptom free but should be the only cat in the household, unless you want to adopt one if his roommates.
News Flash! Norman and Patches find a new home!
Read what their new friend has to say....
"Hi Miriam,
Thank you for requesting the vet papers, I picked them up yesterday at Hoboken animal hospital so we should be all
set. Norman and Patches are doing fabulous! The ride home took longer than I thought...but the cats did well
through the trip and finally we got home. Norman immediately jumped from his carry case, explored every room in the
apartment and found a spot under my bed where he stayed for the next 15 hours. Patches wouldn't come out of her carry
case until I took her out. I brought her on the sofa and she was fine within the hour. Both cats spent most of
Saturday under my bed. I went out on Sat. night and when I got home they were both waiting at the front door for me!
In fact they decided that 2am was play time in the living room! As of Sunday morning they've both completely adjusted
and roam the apartment freely. They even come out when company comes over. Patches still only likes the Science
Diet and Norman eats the Nutro brand food. So we'll keep it that way if they're happy. Everyone agrees that Norman
looks like a "Norman" so his name will stay, but Patches is so pretty I think I'll call her Sara or Claire. So far no
mishaps with my shoes, although one of them (not sure which) used my DKNY duffle bag in lieu of the litter box once.
No big deal since it's a vinyl bag. Otherwise they're very cute kitties and very sweet.
I'm so glad I adopted them! I think they're very happy here!
Thanks so much,
Bethany, Sara Claire, and Norman"
Thank you, Bethany!
A Home for Sydney!
Miriam and Roy,
I am so sorry it has taken Stacy and I so long to get this to you. Better late than never I suppose. We wanted to thank
you, first for all the dedication and love you both offer at Polly's Place. Secondly for allowing us to adopt our beautiful
girl Sydney!
We came to you in May 2003 and almost one year later we couldn't be happier to have her as part of our family. Sydney
is quite the little diva. Over the past year she has managed to become queen of this castle. She's playful, she's loving and
boy is she fast! There is never a dull moment in the house and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you again, we wish you all the best at Polly's Place.
P.S. Sydney says thanks for finding her new mommies!
